Supporting our local charities
Each year we invite a local charity to take collections at our events (concerts and carol-singing in local supermarkets in the weeks before Christmas) as part of their own fundraising efforts. We were delighted to hear that around four hundred pounds was collected by our chosen charity for the 2022/23 season, Wigton Food Pantry, as a result of this collaboration.

Cumbria Rural Choirs - Cumbria Singers
Established in 1951, Cumbria Rural Choirs brought together singers from across Cumbria and neighbouring areas to perform large scale choral works, often led by internationally-renowned conductors and accompanied by professional musicians and soloists.
With over 100 members Cumbria Rural Choirs was the largest amateur choir in the County. Wigton Choral Society is proud to have supported its development and joined in its success. In May 2022, Cumbria Rural Choirs became Cumbria Singers. For more information, visit the Cumbria Singers website.
